Beth Kornegay- Lawrence Tour Guide, Tour Guide and Manager for KCK and Shawnee Tours

Beth Kornegay has been a tour guide with Ghost Tours of Kansas since 2008 and provides tours in Lawrence, Shawnee, and Kansas City, Kansas.

She is a Civil War buff and has extensively researched the history of Lawrence and how it affects paranormal activity there. Her favorite stop in Lawrence is the Sigma Nu fraternity because of the unusual history of the building as well as the stories that continue to be collected from the members of the fraternity.  A full body apparition was captured in Pioneer Cemetery during one of her tours in 2010.

Beth lives in Shawnee and helped research and put together that tour in 2009.  Because there are so many stories concentrated in downtown Shawnee, her favorite part of the Shawnee tour is walking through the area.  A mysterious green glowing hand was photographed at one of those businesses in 2015, which Beth shares during the Shawnee tour.

Downtown Kansas City, Kansas is an ethnically diverse area.  Our KCK tour begins at Fat Matt's Vortex Bar, which just happens to have originally served as a mortuary.  Cremation vaults are still in the basement of the building.  One of the locations where the tour gets out of the bus is the former St. John's Orphanage, which is now a museum loaded with ghost stories.

Beth enjoys traveling to haunted locations including the Vallisca axe murder house, the Lizzie Borden house, Atchison's Sallie House, Sedona, Arizona, and Salem, Massachusetts but leaves the paranormal investigations up to the experts.  Each October, she is sought by local Kansas City media outlets for interviews about ghosts and her tours.  She contributed to a book called "Haunted Lawrence", which was published in 2017 and includes several of her personal stories and pictures from her Lawrence tours.  She also has contributed to another book, "Where's the Ghost?" where she recounts her adventures of being a ghost tour guide.
